Brett Hyrjak, the winner of the UK 2007 Bingo Caller of the Year competition and Ambassador for UK bingo during a year of doubt and turmoil, handed his crown over to Blake Robson at the latest Bingo Caller of the Year Competition recently held in London.
Not only has Blake had to step into the shoes of a formidable ambassador of the UK’s favourite game, he has also had to take on the troubles of the embattled industry and it is not going to be an easy task for him.
What the Judges were looking for in the new Bingo Caller of the Years was Pizazz! And personality as well as the ability to represent UK bingo and act as an ambassador for the industry for 2008, well Blake won and now not only does he have the job of representing the UK bingo industry for the next twelve months, the next twelve months look as though they are going to be really tough months, as spectators watch with bated breath to see what is next going to kick the feet out from under bingo and send it reeling once more. Let us hope that does not happen!
